Curry from rooster combs with spiced rice


What you need:

600-700 g rooster combs
2 medium tomatoes
3 medium onions
4 cloves of garlic
3 cm of fresh ginger root
1 red chili pepper
2 tbsp. liter. tomato paste
2 tbsp. liter. melted butter
1/2 tsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. ground coriander
a pinch of ground cardamom and nutmeg
1 tsp. curry powder
1/2 tsp. ground turmeric
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
salt


For the garnish:

2 cups basmati rice
2 tbsp. liter. melted butter
1 star anise
1 bay leaf
1 cinnamon stick
salt
